Face swap and voice change on Messenger video calls from a PC

Meta retired the Messenger desktop app in December 2025; on a computer, Messenger calls now run in the browser at messenger.com or facebook.com. The browser lets you choose the camera and microphone, so the NZCAM camera and CABLE Output work there like any webcam.

Set it up in Messenger

  1. Start NZCAM and press Go live.
  2. In Chrome, open Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Camera and choose the NZCAM camera at the top; do the same under Microphone with CABLE Output. Other browsers have the same choice in their site settings.
  3. Open messenger.com or Facebook, allow the camera and microphone when asked, and start a video call.

A filter for Messenger video calls on PC

Messenger's own effects are on the phone app. On a PC, NZCAM gives your calls a realistic face swap from any photo, an anime look with Stylize, cinematic colour looks, and a cloned voice, live.
