Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: August 8, 2026
NZCAM is a creative tool for lawful, consensual, 18+ use. This policy sets out what that means in practice. It applies to the NZCAM desktop application and every account on our website. Violating this policy is a breach of our EULA and Terms, and may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and license, without refund.
1. You must be 18 or older
NZCAM is not for minors. By using NZCAM you confirm you are at least 18 years old.
2. Consent and disclosure
Only swap the face or clone the voice of someone who has given you permission to do so, or use your own likeness. Do not use another person's likeness or voice without their consent. Where you create media that could appear to depict a real person, you must have that person's verifiable consent (or that of their authorized agent) and, where the content could be mistaken for authentic, provide clear and conspicuous disclosure that it is AI-generated.
3. AI-generated content and provenance
NZCAM produces AI-generated and AI-manipulated media. You are responsible for disclosing that content is AI-generated or AI-manipulated wherever the law requires it, including under the EU AI Act and any applicable state or national AI-transparency laws. You must not remove, alter, obfuscate, or interfere with any watermark, provenance marking, or machine-readable metadata that NZCAM or its underlying models attach to output, and you must not strip such markings when you share or distribute the content.
4. Child sexual abuse material: zero tolerance
There is no exception, no artistic defence and no appeal on this one. You may not use NZCAM to produce, request, solicit or distribute any sexualised or exploitative depiction of a minor, real or synthetic. You may not use the face or voice of a minor to create sexual content of any kind, and you may not use NZCAM to make an adult appear to be a minor in sexual content, or to make a minor appear to be an adult.
Accounts involved in this are terminated immediately and permanently, without refund, and are reported to the appropriate authorities where the law requires or permits it. If you encounter such content generated with NZCAM, report it to us through the contact page, and report it to your national child-protection hotline.
5. Prohibited uses
You may not use NZCAM to:
- Impersonate a real person without their verifiable consent and, where required, clear and conspicuous disclosure, in a way intended to deceive.
- Harass, bully, threaten, defame, or target any individual or group.
- Create or distribute intimate, sexual, or otherwise non-consensual imagery or audio of any real person.
- Commit or facilitate fraud, scams, or any deceptive financial or identity scheme — including using a swapped face or cloned voice to pass an identity, age or liveness check, to defeat know-your-customer verification, or to authorise a payment.
- Create content depicting minors in any sexualized or exploitative way.
- Deceive voters or interfere with an election or referendum, including synthetic depictions of candidates, officials or electoral processes, and any use that misrepresents when, where or how to vote.
- Fabricate an emergency, a public-safety announcement, or a statement attributed to a public authority, a news organisation or a health body.
- Violate any applicable law, including laws on defamation, privacy, publicity rights, or election/political-communication regulations in your jurisdiction.
- Infringe anyone's intellectual property or publicity rights.
6. High-risk and prohibited AI practices
NZCAM is a creative tool for consensual synthetic media. It is not built, tested or licensed for uses where a failure would affect someone's rights, safety or livelihood, and you may not deploy it for any of the following:
- Biometric identification, verification or categorisation of people, or inferring characteristics such as race, political opinion, religion, health status or sexual orientation from a face or voice.
- Building or contributing to a facial-recognition database by untargeted collection of faces from the internet or from CCTV.
- Emotion inference in workplaces, schools or any other setting where it affects how a person is treated.
- Social scoring, predictive policing, or assessing an individual's risk of committing an offence.
- Decisions about employment, credit, insurance, housing, education, immigration status, or access to essential public or private services.
- Medical diagnosis, treatment, or any safety-critical system.
- Subliminal, manipulative or deceptive techniques that materially distort a person's behaviour, or that exploit vulnerabilities of age, disability or economic circumstance.
- Development of weapons, or any military, intelligence or surveillance application.
7. Security, integrity and fair use of the service
You also may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble NZCAM except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded, or attempt to extract, copy or redistribute its model weights.
- Remove, disable or circumvent the watermark, licensing, device-locking, provenance marking or any other protection in the software — or use, distribute or promote a tool that does.
- Share, resell, sublicense or redistribute your licence, your account or the software.
- Access the service by automated means, scrape it, or use it in a way that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or is designed to evade metering, quotas or credit accounting.
- Probe, scan or test the security of our systems without our prior written permission, or interfere with any other user's access.
- Upload or transmit malware, or use NZCAM in the development of malicious code.
- Use the service in breach of export control or sanctions law.
If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please report it to us privately through the contact pagebefore disclosing it anywhere else. We will not pursue a good-faith researcher who reports a genuine issue privately and does not access, alter or retain other people's data.
8. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and take action including warning, suspension, or termination of your account and license, with no refund of prepaid fees, and, where required by law, reporting to appropriate authorities. We choose the response proportionate to what happened — a first, minor, apparently accidental breach is usually a warning; the matters in section 4 are always immediate termination.
Because face swap and voice change run on your own computer, we do not monitor, scan or see what you create. Enforcement is driven by reports, by billing and abuse signals, and by what is publicly visible — not by inspection of your media.
9. Reporting a violation
If you believe NZCAM has been used to violate this policy — including to create content depicting you without your consent — please contact us immediately. Tell us what the content is, where it appears, and how to identify it. Reports about non-consensual intimate imagery and about content involving minors are prioritised above everything else we are doing.
Copyright and likeness complaints. If you hold rights in material used with NZCAM, or the content depicts you, send us your contact details, an identification of the material and where it appears, a statement of the right you hold, and a statement that your complaint is made in good faith and is accurate. We will review it and act where the complaint is substantiated.
Appeals. If we suspend or terminate your account and you believe we got it wrong, reply to the notice we send or contact us, and a person — not an automated process — will review the decision. We will tell you the outcome and, where we can do so without compromising an investigation or someone's safety, the reason. Decisions under section 4 are final.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the law and the technology change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for changes that materially expand what is prohibited we will give notice as described in our Terms of Service.
11. Relationship to other policies
This policy works alongside our Responsible Use page (plain-language summary), EULA, and Terms of Service.
